CW quantity

The co-product or by-product quantity in catch weight units.

CW unit

The unit of measure that is used with the catch weight for the co-product or by-product.

Unit

View or select the unit of measure that is used with the Quantity field.

Per series

By default, this value is the size of the formula version. However, you can change this value to specify the quantity of the formula product for which this co-product or by-product is created.

Cost allocation

View or select the type of cost allocation for the co-product item. The options are as follows:

  • None ─ No cost allocation is applicable for the co-product. For a by-product, always select None. Cost allocation is not used for by-products.

  • Manual ─ Enter the cost allocation percentage manually in the corresponding Cost allocation percent field.

  • TCA ─ If the Total Cost Allocation method is selected for a co-product, cost allocation percentages are estimated automatically. You can also use the Estimate cost form to check the suggested cost allocation. For more information, see About the methodology for total cost allocation.

Cost allocation percent

If you selected Manual in the Cost allocation field, enter the cost allocation percentage.

  • For a co-product, enter a positive percentage in this field. You cannot enter a negative value.

  • For a by-product, enter zero. Cost allocation is not used for by-products.

Burden

View or select the type of burden for the by-product item.

Note

The types of burden are as follows:

  • None ─ Always select this option for a co-product.

  • Percent ─ Select this option if the cost of disposing the by-product is a percentage, not an amount, of the total production cost.

  • Per series ─ Select this option if the burden amount is applied to the cost of the batch order, regardless of the quantity that is reported as finished. The burden amount is scaled based on the ratio of the batch order quantity, and per series for the by-product on the formula.

  • Per quantity ─ Select this option if the burden amount is applied to the cost of the batch based on the quantity reported as finished. In this case, the burden amount is scaled up and down depending on the ratio of the report as finished quantity of the by-product in the batch order and the per series for the by-product on the formula.

By-product burden amount

If you use the Burden field, enter the amount that is added to calculate the cost of disposing of this by-product. The value must be positive.

Product name
