Edit contact information (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Sales and marketing > Common > Customers > All customers. Open the record to view, and then, on the Contact information FastTab, click More options > Advanced.

You can also access this form from the following list pages:

  • Global address book

  • All prospects

  • All leads

  • All contacts

  • All opportunities

  • All vendors

  • Competitors

  • Workers

Use this form to add, view, modify, or delete contact information for a party record. You can locate this form from any party form that includes a Contact information tab.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Select the contact information records to view.

This control is not available if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Remove or inactivate the selected contact information record.

Name or description

Enter a name or a description for the contact information record.

Contact number/address

Enter the contact number, email address, or URL.

Location ID

The unique identifier for the contact information record.

Purpose

Select the communication type for the contact.

Type

Select the use or purpose of the contact information record, such as home or business.

Primary

View whether the address is primary. A primary address is the principal postal address for the selected party. A primary address can also be the default address for the party.

Private

View whether the address is private. If the address is marked as private, you must be assigned to the appropriate role to view the address.

Effective:

Enter the date and time when the contact information record becomes effective.

Note

This control is not available if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Expiration:

Enter the date and time when the contact information record expires.
