Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Inventory management > Periodic > Quality management > Quality orders. Click New.

Use this form to manually create a quality order for the inventory of an item and the test quantity. You can create a quality order to perform the tests in a specified test group.

You can also use this form to manually create a quality order for a specified order, such as a purchase order, sales order, or production order, and for a specified test quantity and test group. You can manually create one or more quality orders for each order.

Quality orders can be automatically generated, based on rules that are defined in the Quality associations form. For example, you might define a rule so that a quality order is generated after a purchase order product receipt is posted for an item.

Example

Your manufacturing organization must perform a set of tests for the inventory of batch-controlled materials just before the expiration date of a batch. You manually create a quality order for the inventory quantity of the specified item and batch. The test group that is specified defines the tests that are required.
