Variant matrix (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Click Retail > Common > Assortments. In the Assortments list, double-click an assortment. Then, in the Assortments form, on the Products FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

Click Retail > Setup > Category hierarchies > Retail product hierarchy. In the Retail product hierarchy form, on the Products FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

–or–

Click Retail > Common > Catalogs > Catalogs. In the Catalogs list, double-click a catalog. Then, in the Catalogs form, on the Products FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

–or–

Click Retail > Common > Pricing and discounts > Discounts. In the Discount form, on the Lines FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

Click Retail > Common > Replenishment > Cross docking. In the Planned cross docking form, on the Lines FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

Click Procurement and sourcing > Common > Purchase orders > All purchase orders. On the All purchase orders list page, double-click a purchase order in the list, or create a new purchase order. Then, in the Purchase order form, on the Purchase order lines FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

Click Sales and marketing > Common > Sales orders > All sales orders. On the All sales orders list page, double-click a sales order in the list, or create a new sales order. Then, in the Sales order form, on the Sales order lines FastTab, click Add products. In the Add products form, select products to add. In the Available products grid, select a product that includes product variants, and then click Add variants.

Use this form to select the product variants to add to a document or component. You can filter this form to enter the quantity of each product variant to add. The filters that you can select vary, depending on the variants that are defined for the product. Filters can include size, color, style, and so on.

Note

This form is available only if variants have been defined for the selected product.

Select all cells of data in a selected column to add all selected variants to the Add products form. You must right-click in a cell to see this option.

Copy

Copy the cell contents to the clipboard. You must right-click in a cell to see this option. This option is available only if the form from which the Add products form is opened accepts quantities.

Paste

Paste the cell contents that you copied into a selected cell. You must right-click in a cell to see this option. This option is available only if the form from which the Add products form is opened accepts quantities.

Paste to all

Paste the cell contents that you copied into all cells that are displayed in the form. You must right-click in a cell to see this option. This option is available only if the form from which the Add products form is opened accepts quantities.

Paste to columns

Paste to rows

Deselect all

Clear all rows and columns of data that are selected in the form. You must right-click in a cell to see this option.
