Forecast position (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2
Click Human resources > Periodic > Budget planning > Forecast positions. Double-click a position.
Use this form to add new positions to the budget forecast, to modify existing positions in the budget forecast, and to remove positions from the budget forecast. Changes to this form do not affect live, existing positions that are displayed in the Positions list page.
Note
This form is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Modify the forecast position. Note The position will be changed only in the budget forecast. If this position was created from a live position, the original position is not affected. |

Delete the selected position from the budget forecast. Note The position will be deleted only from the budget forecast. If this position was created from a live position, the original position is not deleted. |
Forecast position |
Add a new position to the budget forecast. Note The position will only be added to the budget forecast. It is not displayed in the Positions list page. |
Copy selected |
Make one or more copies of the selected position and add them to the forecast. Note The positions will only be added to the budget forecast. They will not appear in the Positions list page. |
General

Description |

Position |
The identification number of the position. The position ID is automatically generated, if it is specified by Human resources number sequences. Number sequences can be defined in the Number sequence tab in the Human resources shared parameters form. For more information about number sequences, see Number sequences (list page). |

The description of the position. |
Job |
The job ID that is associated with the position. |
Department |
The department that the position reports to. |
Reports to position |
The position that a person in the position reports to. For example, select the person who manages the position or the person who approves absences for the worker assigned to the position. |
Title |
The title to associate with the current position, such as Manager, Secretary, or Consultant. Note If the job that you selected in the Job field already has a title specified, by default, that job title is displayed. |
Position type |
The position type. |
Full-time equivalent |
The employment factor must be between 0 and 1. 1 indicates a full-time job. For part-time employment, enter a number that is less than 1. For example, a part-time job can be .5. Note By default, if the job that you selected in the Job field already has a full-time equivalent value assigned to it, that value is displayed. |
Compensation region |
The physical location or group of locations where the position will be located. The information in this field is maintained in the following form: Compensation regions (form).Note This field is available only if the Compensation configuration key is selected in the Configuration form. |

The date when the position becomes inactive. |
Financial dimensions

Legal entities |
The legal entities whose bank account the payroll funds will be disbursed from for this position. |
Distribution template |
The template that is used to determine the default dimension values and percentages for earning distributions when splitting the cost across more than one dimension. This information can be changed on an individual earning line. Note If you select a template in this field and one exists for the earning code, the earning code template is used when you create pay statement earning lines. |
Annual gross compensation |
The estimated annual gross income of the position. This is used only for budget forecasting. If the budget purpose type is based on a percentage, the Annual gross compensation amount will be multiplied by the value in the Percent field to determine the Net amount. |
Currency |
The currency assigned to the grid values. The default value for this comes from the selected legal entity. |
Budget defaults |
This information is used to identify the expenses for the position so that it can be used in budget forecasts. For more information, see Key tasks: Forecast positions or Work with forecast positions. |
