Before you add an additional server to your network, you must obtain the proper hardware and operating system for the server, and physically connect the server to the network.

The additional server needs to be running Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003. For information about hardware requirements for Windows Server 2003, see Review Hardware Requirements in Appendix A of "Getting Started" at the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=20122).
