Checklist: Authenticate Web Servers with Certificates Issued by a Windows-Based CA

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Certificates can be used to authenticate queries sent by clients to Web servers. By using certificates issued by a Microsoft certification authority (CA), clients can verify that the query results have not been tampered with and that the results were returned by the correct domain controller or Web server.
