Background scanning on engine update

Background scanning on engine update is intended to ensure that all files are scanned using the latest updates and configurations. Background scanning initiates a scan of the entire information store after scan engine updates.

Background scanning on engine update is disabled by default upon installation because background scanning of large information stores can place a heavy load on the server.
