Test the Application Compatibility Database

Testing your application database is an iterative process where unsuccessful fixes are revised and retested. The testing process includes a series of tests in the test environment and one or more pilot deployments in the production environment.
Perform the following procedure for each of the applications for which you created an application compatibility fix.
To test an application compatibility database in a test environment
- Install the application and the application compatibility database on a computer with a new installation of Windows 7 in your test environment.
Important
You should use a new installation of Windows 7 to ensure that any changes that you made to your test computer while determining the appropriate fix for the application do not provide inaccurate test results.
Log on to the test computer as a standard user, and then perform the full suite of tests that you performed to identify application compatibility issues for the application.
If the fix is not successful, revise the fix by uninstalling the application compatibility database and installing a different application compatibility database as described in Install or Uninstall an Application Compatibility Database, and then perform step 1 again.
Perform the following procedure on the pilot computers for each of the applications for which you created an application compatibility fix.
To test the application compatibility fixes in a pilot deployment
Include the application and application compatibility fix in your pilot image so that it can be tested by pilot users.,
If the fix is not successful, revise the fix, repeat the steps in the previous procedure, and then perform step 1 in this procedure again.
