It is important to know the geographic profile of your organization because it affects your Configuration Manager 2007 hierarchy design. Many organizations have a central location (headquarters) with branch offices located in other regions (remote sites). Organizations that have locations in different cities will probably have one or more Configuration Manager 2007 sites in each of those cities. Also, date and time zone differences can affect how software is distributed to different locations.

Use the following guidelines to assist in preplanning tasks.
