How to Create a Status Message Query

Use the following procedure to create a status message query in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007.

You must have Create rights for the Query security object class to perform this procedure.

To create a status message query

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / System Status.

  2. Right-click Status Message Queries and then click New Status Message Query, which opens the New Status Message Query Wizard.

  3. On the General page of the New Status Message Query Wizard, specify the following:

    • Name Specify a unique and descriptive name for the status message query.

    • Comment Specify a description for the status message query.

    • Import Query Statement Import a saved status message query (if desired).

    • Edit Query Statement Opens the Query Statement Properties dialog box, where you can specify the criteria used to return results from the status message query.

  4. Click Finish to create the status message query and close the New Status Message Query Wizard.

    noteNota
    Site database queries are different from status message queries. Do not paste text from a standard Configuration Manager 2007 query into a status message query.
