The following checklist provides a recommended path to refine a configuration baseline from a Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Configuration Pack, by modifying the configuration baseline rules in Configuration Manager 2007.

If you need to make revisions to your configuration items, modify them in the duplicated configuration baseline.

Continue to monitor compliance results and either revise your configuration items, or remediate noncompliant computers.

When new versions of the Configuration Pack become available, download them, and then import them into Configuration Manager 2007. The original configuration items that are still referenced in the duplicate configuration baseline will be automatically upgraded with any revisions. However, if new configuration items are added to the Configuration Pack configuration baseline, you will need to add these to the duplicated configuration baseline.
