Preparing the Site for Desired Configuration Management

To use desired configuration management on your Configuration Manager 2007 site, the following needs to be in place:

  • The site must be running Configuration Manager 2007.

  • Clients must be running the Configuration Manager 2007 client.

  • The desired configuration management client agent must be enabled.

  • Client computers must have installed the .NET Framework v2.0 (or later)

The .NET Framework v2.0 is supplied with the latest operating systems, such as Windows Vista, and is also available to download through Windows Update. You can also download it from the Web (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=56407) and install it through software distribution or other deployment methods.
