How to Identify Client Issues with Assigned Configuration Baselines in Desired Configuration Management

When clients experience problems downloading configuration data in Configuration Manager 2007, desired configuration management records a status message in the following table.

 

Message ID Explanation

11800

Indicates a download failure for a configuration item.

11801

Indicates a hash failure for a configuration item.

11850

Indicates a download failure for SML content.

11851

Indicates the policy could not be uncompressed.

11858

Indicates that packages for SML content could not be uncompressed.

11859

Indicates a failure in evaluating a configuration item.

11860

Indicates a failure in evaluating SML content.

11861

Indicates a failure in the SML discovery type process.

11862

Indicates the SML discovery type is halted.

Use the following procedure to find these status messages to identify client issues with assigned configuration baselines in Configuration Manager 2007.

To identify client issues with assigned configuration baselines

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / System Status / Status Message Queries.

  2. Right-click the query All Status Messages, and then click Show Messages.

  3. In the All Status Messages dialog box, you are prompted for the time period for which you want to check status messages. Enter the time period or date and time, and then click OK.

  4. All status messages are displayed in the Status Message Viewer. Click the Component column, and locate the status messages with a component named Desired Configuration Management.

  5. In the Message ID column, look for the following errors to identify client problems with configuration data:

    • 11800

    • 11801

    • 11850

    • 11851

    • 11858

    • 11859

    • 11860

    • 11861

    • 11862

    • 11863

  6. Click OK to close the Status Message Details dialog box, and close the Status Message Viewer.
