Add Boot Image Package Wizard - Data Source Page

You can use the Data Source page to add a boot image to use with operating system deployment. You must specify a path to the boot image WIM file in a valid Universal Naming Convention (UNC) format. The SMS Provider must have read access to the location specified.

This page contains the elements described in the following table.

 

Setting Description

Path

Specifies the path to the boot image you want to add by using UNC format. You can enter the information, or click Browse to search for the WIM file you want to add.

Boot Image

If multiple boot images are associated with the WIM file specified, use the drop-down list to select the boot image that you want to use.

Only finalized boot images can be imported. A finalized boot image must have at least three optional components installed. The three components that must be installed on the boot image are:

  • Scripting

  • WMI

  • XML
