How to Create a Guest Operating System Profile

Atualizada: Outubro de 2008

Aplica-se a: Virtual Machine Manager 2008, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 SP1

You can use a Virtual Machine Manager guest operating system profile to configure operating system settings on virtual machines that you deploy, or plan to deploy, on physical host servers. By importing a guest operating system profile into a template and then using the template to create multiple virtual machines, you can ensure a consistent operating system configuration for each virtual machine in the set of virtual machines created from that template.

To create a guest operating system profile:

  1. In the VMM Administrator Console, in Library view, in the Actions pane, click New guest OS profile to open the New Guest OS Profile dialog box.

  2. Click the General tab and enter the following properties:

    • Name (required). Type a unique name for the guest operating system profile.

    • Description (optional). Type a description for the guest operating system profile.

    • Owner (required). Select an owner; the owner must have a domain account in Active Directory.

  3. Click the Guest OS tab and modify the properties as described in How to Customize the Operating System of a Virtual Machine
