How to Exclude a Virtual Machine from PRO Host-Level Actions

Applies To: Virtual Machine Manager 2008, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 SP1

If you do not want Performance and Resource Optimization (PRO) in System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) to migrate a virtual machine or implement other host-level PRO actions for it, you can use the following procedure to exclude that virtual machine from host-level actions. You still will receive PRO tips with recommendations for right-sizing the virtual machine, based on performance and health data.

To exclude a virtual machine from PRO host-level actions

  1. In the Virtual Machine Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

  2. Select the Exclude virtual machine from PRO host-level actions check box.

    Note

This option is not available until System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1 or later has been integrated with VMM. For integration procedures, see Configuring Operations Manager Integration with VMM 2008.
