Collection Name Settings: Power Management Tab

Use the Power Management tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Collection Name Settings dialog box to configure power management options for the selected collection.

The Power Management tab contains the following items:

Do not specify power management settings
Choose this option if you do not want to apply a new power plan to the selected collection.

Never apply power management settings to computers in this collection
Prevents any power management settings from being applied to computers in the selected collection.

Specify power management settings for this collection
Enables you to specify power management settings for computers in the selected collection.

Start
Indicates the start of peak time when the specified peak plan is applied to computers in the collection.

End
Indicates the end of peak time after which the specified non-peak plan is applied to computers in the collection.

Duration
Displays the duration specified for the peak time period.

Peak plan
From a drop-down list, enables you to select the power plan you want to apply to the computer during its peak time (for example, during normal office hours). To create a customized power plan, select Customized Peak, and then click Edit to configure properties for this power plan.

noteNota
You cannot edit the built-in power plans Balanced, High Performance, and Power Saver.

Non-peak plan
From a drop-down list, enables you to select the power plan you want to apply to the computer during its non-peak time (for example, outside of normal office hours). To create a customized power plan, select Customized Non-peak, and then click Edit to configure properties for this power plan.

You cannot edit the built-in power plans Balanced, High Performance, and Power Saver.

Wakeup time (desktop computers)
Specifies a time when desktop computers will enter wake to install scheduled updates or software installations.

ImportantImportante
Wakeup time settings are not supported on portable computers to prevent scenarios in which they might wake when not plugged in.
