Configure SAN Storage

In this optional task, you configure Windows EBS to use a storage area network (SAN) to store the data files for its related server applications, such as Exchange Server and System Center Essentials. You move the application data from the data storage volumes that you selected in the Installation Wizard to the data volumes in your SAN, and you configure the applications in Windows EBS to access the data in the new location.

Note

Depending on your SAN configuration, you may need to perform preliminary steps to configure the SAN and provision the storage. On some iSCSI SAN configurations, storage is already provisioned and the SAN is ready to accept data for Windows EBS. For more information, see the documentation from the provider of your SAN.

For instructions about how to relocate the application data for Windows EBS to your SAN, see the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkId=121234).
