EdgeSync failed to confirm the credentials for replication account %1 for subscription server %2. The start date is %3. The password hash is %4. Please make sure Microsoft Exchange Credential service (MSExchangeEdgeCredential) is running properly on the subscription server.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that the Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync service could not validate the future replication account credentials that are required to replicate Служба каталогов Active Directory data to the Edge Transport server. The replication account and the target Edge Transport server are specified in the event description.

This Error event does not indicate that the replication account credentials that are currently being used are invalid. Instead, it indicates that the set of replication credentials that must be used next is not valid. EdgeSync performs this proactive check to verify that it can log on with the new credentials 15 days before the Edge Transport server will switch to the new credentials.

This Error event may be caused if the future Edge Transport credentials have not been correctly propagated to the Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) instance on an Edge Transport server.

User Action

No immediate user action is required. However, you must resolve this error before it becomes a problem. To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

  1. Make sure that the Microsoft Exchange Credential Service (EdgeCredentialSvc) is running on the target Edge Transport server.

  2. Make sure that the replication account credentials are correctly propagated to the AD LDS instance on an Edge Transport server. To do this, run the Exchange Management Shell cmdlet Start-EdgeSynchronization. This cmdlet forces EdgeSync to replicate the replication account data to the target Edge Transport servers.

If this event is still logged after you perform these steps, review the Application log for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the root cause of this error.
