End a process

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To end a process

  1. Open Terminal Services Manager.

  2. On the Processes tab, under the User column, right-click the process you want to end, and then click End Process.

Notes

  • You must have Full Control permission to end a process.

  • To open Terminal Services Manager, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Terminal Services Manager.

  • Be aware that ending a process without warning can result in loss of data at the user's session.

  • You might need to end a process because the application is not responding.

  • You can also use the tskill command to end a process.
