Attach or detach an existing staging database
The 规划管理控制台 gives you the option to attach or detach a staging database to your application. To review the necessary security requirements for database operations in either application, see Security roles.
To attach or detach a staging database that has an association to an application, you must be a member of the Global Administrator role in 规划服务器.
The following procedure describes how to attach or detach a different staging database.
To attach a different staging database in Planning Administration Console
Connect to the 规划服务器 system in the 规划管理控制台.
Click Applications in the 规划管理控制台.
Select application to which the staging database should be attached or detached.
Click Edit. The Edit Application dialog box appears.
In the Staging Area section, you create a staging database, direct the application to a different staging database, or detach the current staging database from the application.
To create a new staging database for the application on the same SQL Server computer as the application database, click to select the Create new staging database check box. Then, in the Staging database name box, type a unique name for the staging database.
To attach an existing database as the staging database for this application, clear the Create new staging database check box. Then, in the Staging database name box, type the name of the database that you want to use as the staging database. This database must be on the same SQL Server computer as the application database. 规划服务器 will verify that the database exists and is a valid staging database. The database will not attach if required tables, Transact-SQL procedures, or functions are missing.
To detach the current staging database from the application, clear the Create new staging database check box, and then clear the Staging database name box. The existing database will not be deleted but it will no longer be associated with the application.
Click OK.
