To use ypcat to print values in an NIS map
At a command prompt, type one of the following:
ypcat [ -k ] [ -d DomainName ] [ -t ] [ -h NISServer ] MapName
or
ypcat -x
The following table describes the arguments that are used with ypcat to print the values of an NIS map. To view the complete syntax for this command, at a command prompt, type ypcat /? .
Argument | Description |

-k |
Displays keys and their values. |
DomainName |
Searches the specified domain for the specified map. |
-t |
Forces the ypcat command to bypass the nickname translation table and search only for the map specified by the MapName parameter. |
NISServer |
Name of the Network Information Service (NIS) server where the map is stored. |
MapName |
The name of the map to be listed. |
-x |
Lists the nicknames as specified by the MapName parameter. |
Note
There is no Windows interface method for this procedure.
