This topic describes document conventions, such as typography and alert conventions, used in this Help file.

Tip


The information in this Help file will help you work with MultiPoint ManagerandMultiPoint Dashboard, as well as some Windows features that are especially relevant to a MultiPoint Server system. For more information about getting help and accessing Windows Help and Support, see the Use Windows Server Help topic.

Text conventions

The typography conventions listed in the following table are used throughout MultiPoint Server Help to distinguish elements of the text.

Convention Use
Interface element Indicates specific user interface (UI) elements, such as the Home tab.
New term Indicates a term specific to the use of MultiPoint Server that is defined in the Managing - Glossary.
ALL UPPERCASE Indicates an acronym, key name, or macro name.
Title Case Indicates dialog box names, column names, user names, computer names, directory names, and folder and file names, except when specifically referring to case-sensitive names.

Reader alert conventions

Reader alerts are used throughout MultiPoint Server Help to notify you of both supplementary and essential information.

Alerts you to supplementary information that is essential to the completion of a task.

Warning


Alerts you that failure to take or avoid a specific action could result in possible data loss.

Warning


Warns you that failure to take or avoid a specific action might result in physical harm to the user or the hardware, or could cause security or privacy issues.
