Microsoft Exchange couldn't initialize the Content Filter agent because ExSMime.dll couldn't be initialized. Verify that ExSMime.dll is properly registered by using Regsrv32.exe. Details: %1

Explanation

This Warning event indicates that the ExSMime DLL could not be loaded. The cause of this warning is specified in the event description.

User Action

To resolve this warning, follow one or more of these steps:

  • Try to reregister ExSMime.dll. To do this, open a Command Prompt window and then open the %ExchangeInstallPath%\bin directory on the Windows server where Exchange 2010 was installed. Run the following command: regsrv32 exsmime.dll

    Note   If you can reregister the dynamic link library, restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport service and monitor the Application log for warnings and errors associated with the Event Sources MSExchange Antispam and MSExchangeTransport.
