A user tried to perform a full-text search of their mailbox from their mobile phone, but Content Indexing is not enabled on Mailbox server "%1". If you do not want Exchange ActiveSync users and other Exchange users to be able to search their mailbox data on the server, no user action is required. If you want Exchange ActiveSync users and other Exchange users to be able to search their mailbox data on the server, make sure that the Microsoft Exchange Search service is running on your Mailbox servers. In addition, make sure that you have enabled full-text search on the appropriate database on the Mailbox server.

Explanation

This Warning event indicates that a mobile device user's attempt to perform a full-text search of their whole mailbox hosted on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange failed. This event does not indicate that a user was unable to search the mailbox data that has been synchronized to their local device.

This event may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • Full-text search is not enabled on the computer that is running the Mailbox server role.

  • The Microsoft Exchange Search (MSExchangeSearch) service is not running on the Mailbox server.

User Action

To resolve this event, consider the following options. These options apply to your ActiveSync users:

  • If you do not want users to be able to search their mailbox data on the server, no user action is required.

  • If you want users to be able to search their mailbox data on the server, do one or more of the following:

    • Make sure that the MSExchangeSearch service is running on your Mailbox servers.

    • Make sure that you have enabled full text search on the appropriate database on the Mailbox server. For more information, see 禁用或启用 Exchange 搜索.
