Explanation

This event indicates that the server that the Exchange Active Directory Provider tried to contact is a read-only domain controller (RODC), and that a writable domain controller is required.

The database on an RODC is read-only. When applications target an RODC, they can only read data from the directory; they cannot write data to the directory. All read and write operations are possible on a writable domain controller.

User Action

To resolve this issue, use the Dcpromo operation together with the Demotion parameter to demote the domain controller to a member server. Then, use Dcpromo together with the Promotion parameter to promote the domain controller as a writable domain controller.
