Click General ledger > Setup > General ledger parameters.

Use this form to set up parameters for General ledger. You can use this form to perform the following tasks:

  • Select options for various types of functionality.

  • Enter default information to use if the information is not specified at a lower level.

  • Select number sequences that are automatically assigned to documents that you create.

  • Set up postdated checks for vendors and customers.

  • Enable letters of credit and letters of guarantee.

Description

Calculation method

Select a method to use to calculate exchange differences, from the following options:

  • Standard – The exchange adjustment is calculated according to the exchange adjustment on the day of invoicing and the day of payment. If the documents were revaluated in previous periods, the adjustment amounts are reversed.

  • Incremental – The exchange adjustment is calculated based on the incremental rates.

  • Period grand total – The exchange rate is calculated according to the difference of rates on the invoice date and the payment date in the period of registration that is first stated in the document. In future periods, the exchange rate is calculated according to the difference of exchange rates on the day of the last revaluation of the previous period and the current voucher. The reversal of revaluation transaction amounts from previous periods is not posted.

Advance revaluation cancelation

Select this check box to cancel any exchange adjustment that was made during an advanced settlement.

Date of VAT register

Select this check box to enable the value-added tax (VAT) register date, instead of the tax transaction date, as the default date for reporting VAT transactions.

Date principle for settlement reversal

Select this check box to enable the settlement reversal functionality on a selected date.

Taxpayer status

Select the default taxpayer status for VAT reporting.

Taxpayer type

Select the default taxpayer type for VAT reporting.

Natural person title

Enter a default personal title.

Natural person first name

Enter a default first name.

Natural person last name

Enter a default last name.

Main economic activity code

Select the default predominant economic activity code.

Factor

Enter the calculation factor for the VAT statement. If you enter 0 or 1, there is no multiplication for the statement line.
