Reporting Deployment in Operations Manager 2007

Applies To: Operations Manager 2007 R2

If you attempt to deploy Reporting to a computer that has SQL Server 2005 SP1 Reporting Services (SRS) and Windows SharePoint Services installed, you need to perform additional steps to configure SRS to work with Windows SharePoint Services. For more information about side-by-side installation of Reporting Services and Windows SharePoint Services, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=78311.

Authentication Involving Multiple Management Servers

In an environment where you have created multiple management servers, each management server requires sufficient rights to write data into both the Operations Manager Database and Reporting data warehouse. Data that is to be written to either the Operations Manager database or Reporting data warehouse is stored in a queue on the management server before being written. Data remains in the queue if the management server does not have sufficient rights to write data to the database. If the queue should become full, data flow in Operations Manager might cease and two events with Event IDs of 31551 and 2115 might appear in the Operations Manager event log. Check the following if you deploy more than one management server in your management group:

  • Open the Run As Profile tab of the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account Run As Account and make sure that there is an entry for each computer that is hosting a management server.

  • Open the Run As Profile tab of the Reporting SDK SQL Server Authentication Account Run As Account and make sure that there is an entry for each computer that is hosting a management server.

If one or more of the management servers is not listed in the Run As Profile tab for each of the two Run As Accounts, you will need to enter the fully qualified domain names for the management servers into the appropriate Run As Profile. The two Run As Accounts are either the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account or Reporting SDK SQL Server Authentication Account.

Note

Upgrading and migrating from the Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Reporting database to the Operations Manager 2007 Reporting data warehouse is not supported.
