How to Configure Alerts Settings for an Operations Manager 2007 Management Group

Use the following procedure to configure alert settings for an Operations Manager 2007 Management Group.

To configure alert setting properties for a Management Group

  1. In the Global Management Group Settings - Alerts dialog box, click New.

    Note

    For more information about how to get to the Global Management Group Settings - Alerts dialog box, see How to View Properties of an Operations Manager 2007 Management Group Setting.

  2. Click the Alert Resolution States tab, type a Resolution State, such as Assigned, select a unique ID, such as 64, and then click OK.

  3. Click the Auto-Resolve Alerts tab, and do the following:

    • Set Resolve all active alerts in the new resolution state after to the desired number of days. The minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 365 days. Active alerts that are in the New state for longer than the specified number of contiguous days will be automatically resolved.
    • Set Resolve all active alerts when the alert source is healthy after to the desired number of days. The minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 365 days. Active alerts from a managed object that is in a healthy state for longer than the specified number of contiguous days will be automatically resolved.
  4. Click OK.
