Install an existing image package - Configure State Migration

If you are migrating settings from the destination computer as part of this task sequence, select the appropriate capture option(s) on this wizard page. You can select the following options:

Capture user settings
Select this option to have Configuration Manager 2007 use a specified Configuration Manager 2007 package that is configured to capture user settings. If you enable this option, you must identify a Configuration Manager 2007 package that can install and run the User State Migration Tool (USMT). Click Browse to launch the Select a Package dialog box and select from a list of available Configuration Manager 2007 packages.

Save user settings on a State Migration Point
Select this option to saver user settings to the state migration point. This is the default option if there is an existing state migration point.

Save user settings locally
Select this option to save the user settings locally. This option is not available if you have selected the option to partition and format the disk on the Install Windows page.

Capture network settings
Select this option to have Configuration Manager 2007 capture network settings from the destination computer. You can capture domain or workgroup membership as well as the network adapter settings. You can modify how Configuration Manager 2007 captures these settings using the Operating System Deployment: Task Sequence Editor.

Capture Microsoft Windows settings
Select this option to have Configuration Manager 2007 capture the Microsoft Windows settings from the target computer. You can capture the computer name, registered user and organization name, and the time zone settings by selecting the appropriate check boxes. You can modify how Configuration Manager 2007 captures these settings using the Operating System Deployment: Task Sequence Editor.
