Recovery status

Published : April 8, 2005 | Updated : August 17, 2005

This Recovery Status dialog box displays the status of the tasks that Data Protection Manager (DPM) must perform to successfully recover data. When you recover large data sets, recovery jobs can take a long time to complete. In this case, you can close the Recovery Status dialog box. You can later check the status of a recovery job in the Monitoring task area.

If a recovery task fails, click the Errors tab for details on the Recovery Status dialog box. DPM is able to resolve many error conditions automatically. However, there are some error conditions, such as when the specified recovery destination does not exist, that you must manually resolve the error. To resolve a specific recovery error, review the alert details in the Monitoring task area and perform the recommended action.

Note

If you recover a folder that contains no files, DPM generates a “Recovery collection failed” or “Recovery collection partially succeeded” alert. In this case, the Tasks tab of the Recovery Status dialog box indicates that the task has failed, and the Errors tab indicates that no files have been recovered. Nonetheless, the folder may have been successfully recovered.
