Create or Modify a VPN Entry

Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012

You can configure connection and security settings required to communicate with the VPN server or servers that support your connection profile.

Note

This page only appears if you specified on the previous Add Support for VPN Connections page that you want VPN support in this connection profile.

If you customize these settings, you can better address unique network authentication or routing requirements of specific VPN servers. A default entry is created and is used to connect to any VPN server unless you create another entry for a specific server:

  • If you selected the Always use the same VPN server option on the previous wizard page, then the default entry can, and should contain the configuration settings used to connect to that VPN server.

  • If you supplied a text file containing a VPN Server List on the previous wizard page, then the default VPN entry is used for each server that does not have a VPN entry on this page with a matching name. For example, if you have a VPN server in the list named Server-NY, the default VPN entry will be used unless you create a VPN entry named Server-NY.

Setting Description

New

Edit

Edit the selected VPN entry.

Delete

Delete the selected VPN entry. You cannot delete the entry marked <Default>.
