How to Configure Remote Access to Virtual Machines

Use Remote Control settings to change the default ports that are used to connect to virtual machines running on Windows Hyper-V and Virtual Server and to optionally specify VMRC access accounts, which can connect to all virtual machines running on Virtual Server through Virtual Machine Remote Control (VMRC).
These changes are not retroactive. VMRC access accounts only grant access to virtual machines that are created after the account is added.
To update remote access settings for Virtual Server
In Administration view, select General in the navigation pane.
In the results pane, select Remote Control.
In the Actions pane, under Settings, click Modify.
To change the default ports for virtual machine connections, enter the following information:
Hyper-V—Enter the default port to use for VMConnect. The default port in VMM is 2179.
Virtual Server—Enter the default port to use for VMRC. The default port in VMM is 5900.
These settings provide default ports when adding new hosts to Virtual Machine Manager. You can override the default port when adding hosts or by updating the host properties.
To grant administrators remote access to all new virtual machines that are deployed on managed Virtual Server hosts, add VMRC access accounts:
Under VMRC access accounts, click Add.
In the Select User or Group dialog box, type or select the user or group account, and then click OK.
A VMRC access account only grants remote access to virtual machines that are created after the account is added.
VMRC access accounts have limited application. VMM administrators can connect to all virtual machines on all hosts that are within their scope, and self-service users are granted or denied remote access to their own virtual machines through specific self-service user role permissions. A VMRC access account is only needed in circumstances where those permissions are not in effect.
