To monitor Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 on Windows Server 2008, you must first download the Internet Information Services 7.0 Management Pack from the Management Pack Catalog, located at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=82105.

The download package includes the following files:

  • Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.2000.mp

  • Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.2003.mp

  • Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.2008.mp

  • Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.CommonLibrary.mp

The download package contains management pack files that enable you to monitor IIS 7.0, IIS 2000, and IIS 2003. The guide for the IIS 2000 and IIS 2003 management packs is separate from this guide and is included in the download package. The Internet Information Services 7.0 Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007 guide (this guide) documents information specific to the Windows Server 2008 IIS 7.0 management pack.

If you are only interested in monitoring IIS 7.0 servers, you will need to import:

  • Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.2008.mp

  • Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.CommonLibrary.mp
