針對執行 Office Communications Server 的伺服器和網域控制站，Office Communications Server 2007 R2 支援 Windows Server 2008。如果要在 Active Directory 樹系中全新安裝 Office Communications Server 2007 R2，且此 Active Directory 樹系中的任一網域至少有一部 Windows Server 2008 網域控制站，則不需進行額外準備工作，即可順利安裝 Office Communications Server。
