Configuring arrays in EMS for workgroup deployment

This topic describes how to configure the arrays in an enterprise for a workgroup deployment:
Configuring authentication for arrays in a workgroup deployment—Describes how to configure the authentication type for a workgroup environment, so that the Forefront TMG computers in the array can connect to the configuration storage server.
Assigning roles to users—Describes how to assign roles to users in the array.
Configuring authentication for arrays in a workgroup deployment
To configure authentication for a workgroup in the array of the enterprise
On the array name, in the Forefront TMG Management console, on the Tasks tab, click Configure array properties.
Click the Configuration Storage tab, and then click Select.
Click Authentication over SSL encrypted channel.
Important
A digital certificate must be installed on the configuration storage server to enable authentication to the Forefront TMG computers in the array.
Assigning roles to users
To assign roles to users in the array
On the array name, in the Forefront TMG Management console, on the Tasks tab, click Configure array properties.
Click the Assign Roles tab.
Add the users and groups that are allowed to monitor the array, and then add the users with mirrored accounts that you created for the Forefront TMG computers in the workgroup. For more information on user accounts, see Creating user accounts.
Note
You cannot add users with mirrored accounts unless you have configured the authentication type, used for connections between Forefront TMG computers in the array and the configuration storage server, to be Authentication over SSL encrypted channel.
