Internal scanning
Applies to: Forefront Protection for Exchange
The basic configuration for internal mail scanning is shown in the following image.
The following tasks occur during internal scanning:
Internal mail is scanned at the first Hub Transport server.
The scanned mail is stamped when identified as safe and routed to the destination Mailbox server without additional scanning.
Benefit: Scanning at the Hub Transport server helps ensure that mail is free of malware before it arrives at a Mailbox server in your internal messaging infrastructure.
