The agent operation failed because of a communication error with the DPM Agent Coordinator service on <ServerName>.

Explanation

This error can occur when you attempt to update a DPM protection agent on a protected computer that is running a localized version of Windows Server 2003 SP2 that is not supported by the DPM Agent Installer.

User Action

To resolve this error, do the following:

  1. If the protected computer is running a localized version of Windows Server 2003 SP1, first upgrade the operating system to Windows Server 2003 SP2.

  2. On the protected computer, download and install the appropriate localized hotfix in article 975759 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=184897), and then try the upgrade again.
