Issues Deleting a MultiPoint Server Server Role, Role Service, or Feature

Symptom

If you remove a server role, server role service, or server feature from MultiPoint Server, and the server role, role service, or server feature is required for MultiPoint Server to work correctly, you do not receive an error message when you complete the removal process. However, the MultiPoint Server system will not function correctly if some required server roles, role services, or server features are removed.

Cause

Because these server roles, role services, or server features are necessary for MultiPoint Server to work correctly, MultiPoint Server does not function correctly after the server role, role service, or server feature is removed.

Resolution

Do not remove the following required server roles, role services, or server features from MultiPoint Server:

Required Server Roles

  • Remote Desktop Services

Required Server Role Services

  • Remote Desktop Session Host

  • Remote Desktop Licensing

  • Remote Desktop Web Access

Required Server Features

  • Desktop Experience

  • Remote Server Administration Tools

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1
