How to Assess MOM Data Source Processes

Use the following procedures to assess the configuration and operations of a MOM data source.

To verify that the MOM data source is configured properly

  1. Verify that the SCRM server can connect to the MOM database server.

  2. Verify that the OnePoint database exists on the specified target server and instance.

  3. Verify that the hotfix from article 912787 is installed on the MOM database server. You can download the required update from the Microsoft Help and Support Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=756) by searching for article 912787.

  4. Verify that the user adding the data source is a member of the SC DW DTS group on the MOM server.

  5. Look for errors by viewing the SCAdminUI_MMC_<DateTime>_<ProcessID>_<UserName>.log file.

To verify that the MOM DTS job is running properly

  1. Check the SCAdminUI_MOMDTS_<DateTime>_<ProcessID>_<UserName>.log file for errors.

  2. Check the Application Log in Event Viewer for events from the following sources:

    • System Center

    • MOM.Datawarehousing.DTSPackageGenerator.exe

    • DataTransformationServices
