After a proposal is created and proposed, a proposal reviewer can make a request to the proposal creator. The request stipulates that a change needs to be made to the proposal before the reviewer can accept or reject it. Typically, a change request would be made for work detail items that are defined in the proposal (such as task dates, resources assigned to tasks, or durations for tasks). When the request for a change is made, a task is assigned to a specific person (usually the proposal creator). The person then has the option to make changes if needed, and to reply to the request.

Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:

  • You have read Work with proposals in Project Server 2007.

  • You have the Proposal Workflow Tasks Web Part added to your Project Web Access home page. You need this component in order to receive proposal workflow tasks (such as reviewing a new proposal).

    Important

Membership in the Proposal Reviewers security group in Project Server, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. For automated (that is, workflow-enabled) proposals, members of the Proposal Reviewers group are automatically notified through the Proposal Workflow Tasks list.

To request a change to a proposal

Perform this procedure to request a change to a proposal in Project Web Access.

Request a change to a proposal

  1. On the Project Web Access home page, in the Proposal Workflow Tasks list, click the proposal you need to review. Task titles for proposals needing review have "Please approve" included.

  2. On the Proposal Workflow Tasks page for the specified proposal, in the Other Options section, click Request a change.

  3. On the Proposal Workflow Tasks page to request a change, in the Request a Change section, in the Request a change from options, specify the person from whom you are requesting a change. You can select The Workflow Owner, or you can select Another person and then click Assign To to find a different person. If you manually type a name in the Assign to field, you can verify the name with the Check Name tool.

    Note

You can only specify one person.

  4. In the Type your request field, describe what you are requesting from the person.

  5. In the Due Date section, in the Task is due by field, enter a date by which you want the task to be completed.

  6. Click Send.
