Description

Specifies whether Windows Server 2003 writes the contents of the system memory to a log file when the system stops unexpectedly. The contents of this log file can be useful in determining why the system stopped.

This entry stores the setting of the Write debugging information box in System in Control Panel. The name and location of the file appear in the DumpFile entry.

Change Method

To change the value of this entry, use the System in Control Panel. Click the Advanced tab, then click Startup and Recovery. Select one of the options from the Write Debugging Information box.

Activation Method

You must restart Windows to make changes to this entry effective.
