Running Dynamic and Static Reports
Use the following procedures to run a report.

To run a dynamic report
- Contact your system administrator to import data into the Data Warehouse and to run the Report Preparation DTS task to make the data available for reports.
- In Analysis, click Reports. In the list of available reports, select the dynamic report definition you want to run, and then click on the toolbar.
The completed dynamic report appears as a PivotTable in a new browser window.
Notes
- If your PivotTable is not visible, click on the toolbar.
- Commerce Server 2002 supports up to 250,000 members per dimension in dynamic reports. If the data set for the report has more than 250,000 members in a dimension, the report will appear in the browser window without data.
To run a static report
Contact your system administrator to import data into the Data Warehouse and to run the Report Preparation DTS task to make the data available for reports.
In Analysis, click Reports. In the list of available reports, select the static report you want to run, and then click on the toolbar.
In the Run a report dialog box, in the Site Name section, do the following:
Use this To do this Operand From the drop-down list, select an operand (All, Equals, Not equal to, Like, Not Like) to determine for which site the report will run. Parameter value By default, this box contains the current site name. If you want to run the report for a different site, type the name of the site for which you want the report to run. If the name that you type does not match a Commerce Server 2002 site name, the report either will fail or will not contain data. In the Run a report dialog box, adjust the parameters to meet your report needs. All report parameters are report specific.
Note
- You can view the report query, site name parameter tags, field name, and number of users parameter tags by clicking Advanced in the Run a report dialog box.
Click OK.
Caution
- If you have many static reports running concurrently, it can slow processing time, or possibly cause Business Desk to not respond.
The static report runs and, when completed, is available for viewing in the Completed Reports module.
