Create a map template
Create a new map or modify an existing map with the features you'd like to preserve.
On the File menu, click Save As.
Click the arrow next to the Save as type box, and click Map Template (*.ptt).
In the Save in box, browse to the folder where you'd like to save your map template.
In the File name box, type a name for your template.
Click Save.
Your map is saved as a MapPoint template with a .ptt file name extension.
