Add geographic areas to or remove them from a territory

  1. Open the Territory Manager if it is not already open.

    How?

  2. Click the name of the territory that you want to modify.

  3. Do one of the following:

    On the Navigation toolbar, click Select  Select button, and then select an area on the map surrounding the area that you want to add or delete.

    Any area that within the selection will be added or removed.

    Click the label of a place on the map that is of the same geographic unit that your territory set is based on.

  4. Do one of the following:

    To add the area, click Add to Territory.

    To remove the area, click Remove from Territory.

Notes

You can only add or remove geographic areas that are the same as that on which you based your territory set. Check the Geographic area box on the Territory Manager.

You cannot add the same geographic area to multiple territories.

The label of the geographic area may not appear on the map if you are zoomed out too far or too close. To view labels, you may have to zoom in or out.

How?

To select several connected geographic areas at once, use the Select tool.

You can also right-click the label of a geographic area on the map and then click Add to Territory or Remove from Territory.

You may be able to identify geographic units more easily if you change the map style to Data Map.
