To create an access rule

  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management:

    • For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, for a specific enterprise policy, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Enterprise, expand Enterprise Policies, and then click Enterprise_Policy.
    • For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, for array-level firewall policy, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.
    • For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Server_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • For the specific enterprise policy, on the Tasks tab, click Create Enterprise Access Rule.
    • For array-level firewall policy, on the Tasks tab, click Create Array Access Rule.
    • For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition firewall policy, on the Tasks tab, click Create New Access Rule.
  3. In the New Access Rule Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions.

Note

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.

Important

After you click Apply on the Apply Changes bar, the policy is updated. The new policy applies only to new connections.
After you create an enterprise policy, you can apply the policy to any array in the enterprise. For instructions, see Apply an enterprise policy (Enterprise Edition).
