Description
Notifies users when their roaming profile is slow to load. The notice lets users decide whether to use a local copy or to wait for the roaming user profile.
This entry stores the setting of the Prompt user when slow link is detected Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes this entry from the registry, and the system behaves as though the value is 0.
Value |
Meaning |
---|---|
0 (or not in the registry) |
A user is not notified when the roaming profile is slow to load. By default, the system loads the local copy of the profile. However, if the value of SlowLinkDefault is 1, the system loads the remote copy of the user profile. |
1 |
A user is notified when the roaming profile is slow to load, and the user is asked how to proceed. |
This entry together with the related entries listed here define the system's response when roaming user profiles are slow to load.
Change method
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Prompt user when slow link is detected Group Policy (Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon).
Note
If the value of SlowLinkDetectEnabled is 1, this entry is ignored. Also, if the value of DeleteRoamingCache is 1, there is no local copy of the roaming profile to load when the system detects a slow connection.
