This article describes operations and maintenance plans for an Enterprise Project Management (EPM)/ Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 extranet environment.

Operations and maintenance
Office Project Server 2007 is a Windows SharePoint Services 3,0 application. Therefore, the recommendations for Windows SharePoint Services 3,0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 database maintenance apply to Office Project Server 2007 also. Among things, the database maintenance will include the following:
Checking database integrity
Defragmenting indexes by either reorganizing them or rebuilding them
Updating the table Statistics

Backup & recovery and disaster recovery processes
The backup and restore procedures for the whole farm (existing or new configuration) are more complex for an EPM-focused Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 farm.
