Upgrading MDM 2008 to MDM 2008 SP1

You will be able to upgrade MDM 2008 to MDM 2008 SP1 by using the following procedures. You must perform these steps in order.

- Running ADConfig to Upgrade Active Directory
Before you upgrade the MDM 2008 server components, you must run the Active Directory Configuration Tool (ADConfig) from the Setup menu on the MDM 2008 SP1 installation disc to configure the domain.
- Upgrading MDM Administrator Tools to MDM 2008 SP1
You must upgrade all MDM 2008 versions of MDM Administrator Tools to MDM 2008 SP1.
- Taking MDM Servers Offline
You will take load balanced servers offline if they are used in your organization.
- Upgrading an MDM Enrollment Server to MDM 2008 SP1
You must upgrade the MDM 2008 version of MDM Enrollment Server to MDM 2008 SP1.
- Upgrading an MDM Device Management Server to MDM 2008 SP1
You must upgrade the MDM 2008 version of MDM Device Management Server to MDM 2008 SP1.
- Updating Group Policy Objects from MDM 2008
You must update your Group Policy infrastructure to support the new modifications only if the policy has changed from MDM 2008 to MDM 2008 SP1.
- Upgrading MDM Self Service Portal to MDM 2008 SP1
You must upgrade all MDM 2008 versions of the MDM Self Service Portal to MDM 2008 SP1.
- Generating the MDM Gateway Server Certificates and Configuration File
When you upgrade MDM 2008 to MDM 2008 SP1, you must request and install new certificates for the MDM Gateway Server. This includes installing root and intermediate certification authority certificates. Also you must generate the MDM Gateway Server configuration file.
